The singer-songwriter has come a long ways since his first debut appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ show. This new song talks about an unfortunate encounter with a girl he falls in love with, and his last move before moving on is to-as the title gives it away-unfriend her on Facebook. The instrumental concept behind this song will remind you of Coldplay’s, ‘Viva la Vida.’ In Chance’s new video, you will be able to see the black piano he self-designed from his first music video, ‘Waiting outside the lines.’ I feel like a teeny-bopper whenever I jam to Chance’s songs. He’s only just beginning his tween years, yet he’s coming up with all these great pop music that gives off a mature sound to his baby face.

She’s back again with her second MV release, “Hearstrings” off of her freshman album, “The Art in My Heart.”

Clara C is known for creating great covers and originals on her Youtube account. She’s known for bringing out the bubbly in her on screen and doesn’t shy away from any artistic strings tickling her bones. And this time, Clara takes it up another notch with creativity in her newest video, “Heartstrings”.

When listening to the song, “Heartstrings,” I imagined the new music video to be all sunshine and smiles at the beach or some outdoorsy Indie setting, like her previous music video. However, this new release gives you a surprising introduction with Clara peering out into the night sky with a telescope in her hand. Hmm, what is she up to now? The colorful and ethereal feel pulls any viewer right in, making one feel dreamy and at peace. What’s impressive about the video is the special effects, something Indie artists usually don’t touch on. However, we all know that the sky is the limit for Clara.

Clara C, I must say, I do not lower my head in disappointment. Each time, you raise the bar higher. Cheers to you and another awesome year. But more pressure to ya, as we’ll continue to anticipate another production of yours.

Moved to South Korea at the end of February for a new job opportunity. So far, my new job is great, I’m learning to appreciate “walking” more, and enjoying awesome food here. New priorities, thus, the backup on Oops! blogs.

I’ve met some cool cats in the music scene here but too busy to explore and dig into it.

So, anywhere and everywhere I go in South Korea, this remix is blaring out from every speaker in shops, cafes, tvs, streets and etc. It took me awhile to figure out who and what this song is, but I finally found it. It’s pretty damn catchy.

Catalyst Ranch Sessions has recently joined forces with Daytrotter, an online music blog to capture some of Chicago’s hippest up-and-coming artists in a video series. They selected local Chicago Indie act, the Hemmingbirds and their song, “Mellow Gold Haze” to kick off their their video series with. It’s the story of a single Chinese-American mother struggling to raise her two kids in Massachusetts. The film starts out with the mother, Elaine, being screwed over by a scam company then the family being evicted from their house. The story goes on to unfold the daily struggles Elaine and her kids go through each day to make ends meet. One day, Elaine disappears and it’s up to the kids to learn how to survive on their own. The story is heartbreaking and beautiful. The kids, Tina and Raymond did such a good job with their roles. Tina with her exuberance in expressions, and Raymond, being the prototype of the first child; taking lead, understanding the height of their difficulties…his solemn look…his maturity to take matters into his own hands..omg. Wow, the kids really blew me away with their acting..and their cuteness. -.-

This story was so beautifully written. I also couldn’t help feeling emotional because the scenes in the film are just a glimpse of what many parents go through each and every single day. Whether they’re a single parent or not, whether they live in the U.S, third world country, Europe or Asia, there are so many families out there struggling to survive for their family and their kids.

The older I get, the more I’m realizing how tough it is to raise kids. From the moment they are born and having to give your undivided attention to them, always being attentive to their needs and wants… Worrying about money and how to survive, how to provide basic needs for your kids… I have so much respect for parents..especially single parents. I seriously do not know how they do it. I also have a lot of respect and admire my parent’s generation, and all other immigrants, whether from Mexico, Asia, or another foreign country. Just the fact alone that they’d give up everything for a better life and living The American Dream in America… I don’t think I’d have the guts to do that, moving to a place where I don’t know the language, starting from scratch. The things our parents went through, the racism, the daily struggles to find jobs, the struggle to learn a new language… giving me what I have now… They did it with their own strength, through perseverance and time. Parents all over the world rock.
